CORPORATE & GROUP WORKSHOPS
DRAWING, PAINTING & CREATIVE SESSIONS TO SUIT YOUR BRIEF
WHAT WE DO
Our corporate and group art workshops can take the form of one-off lessons, whole day sessions, or multi-week courses.
They are for groups of all sizes, and they involve a range of fun and engaging art activities tailored to your particular requirements.
We organise on-site, in-studio, Zoom, and even al fresco classes. During the last 18 months we have been teaching online to a new group of international clients, including participants from the USA, Canada, Russia and Europe.

1. THE GENTLEWOMAN MAGAZINE: evening life-drawing class
The Gentlewoman magazine asked us to organise a fun life-drawing class as a present from the team to their director.
We organised an evening workshop at St Martin's School of Art, incorporating a variety of fun, quick-fire exercises including cartoon sketching, proportional practice, drawing in the style of different artists, and collaborative games.
The exercises gently stretched the team's creative and analytical abilities, while ensuring that everyone had fun and learnt new skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
The team from the Gentlewoman magazine said:
"The office was buzzing the following morning after the session." Emma
"I thought I could never learn to draw, but after one session I believe I can." Carol
2. SQUINT/OPERA: 8-week professional development course
A Squint Masterpiece!
2 large canvases, one over the other, with cut-outs
A Squint Masterpiece!
Design agency Squint/Opera wanted a bespoke course, delivered in-house, that would develop and challenge their team's artistic skills.
For this group of high-level creative professionals, we designed an 8-week course that blended theory with hands-on practice and encouraged collaborative work as much as possible.
Each session used a famous artwork as inspiration to explore a particular set of ideas and skills. The course covered topics such as composition, colour, application, and abstraction.
Squint/Opera were so happy with their course that they have asked us to create another one for them in 2023.
At the end of the first course, Squint/Opera CEO, Jules Coke, said:
"Stephen's classes are far and away the best group activity we've ever undertaken at Squint. He combines a rigorous approach and a deep command of the subject, with humour and irreverence, just the right mix of a fun and relaxed setting, with challenge and reward. We'll definitely be doing more of this."
"The feedback from the whole group was really great. Great variety of approaches, exciting and fun."

Art Courses London was started by Stephen Nicholas and Johanna Kwiat in 2013 and has been growing ever since. Our aim is to make art accessible to everyone, from beginners who have never picked up a paintbrush to professionals who want to deepen their practice.
Our tutor Stephen Nicholas is a Beacon award-winning art teacher and John Moores prize-winning painter, with 30 years' experience teaching art in educational and professional settings.
Johanna Kwiat set up and co created the vision for the school and co-devised the programme, planned and designed our first website.
Johanna is engaged in maintaining and developing community links, running social media campaigns, and expanding the programme and responding to student requirements. She remains a strong presence and influence on the general directions of our school.
Johanna has been especially instrumental in developing our corporate portfolio.
We work with a wide variety of clients including journalists, architects, homemakers, designers, art organisations, charities and a wide range of students and professional groups.
