Service Description
Learn to use the impressionist palette, based on the Chevreul colour wheel, to create your own landscape painting full of light and vibrancy. Morning session: A short sketch painting inspired by Claude Monet, to get you familiar with the impressionist palette and how it behaves. Main project: Using what you've learned in the morning, you'll go on to create your own landscape painting with the impressionist palette. Some of what you'll learn: * How to use a rainbow palette and mix chromatic black * Planning a composition through combinations of colour opposites * Scumbling, dry impasto and wet-into-wet techniques * Contrasting warm and cool colours, and working with colour and value * And more! You'll broaden your painting skills using the impressionist palette to achieve form, depth and compositional variety, while building your knowledge of contrasting colours and the light spectrum. Along the way, we'll explore the tactile, fluid quality of paint to achieve vibrant colour, colour tints and texture.
