Join the wonderful world of water-mixable oils. You don't even have to own any, as we provide materials for this workshop. It is open to acrylic painters and beginners. Materials supplied: Paints, painting surface, palette, linseed oil. There will be some brushes of various sizes and shapes for you to try, but we ask that you bring your brush/brushes. The ones you use for acrylics are fine. Some of what we will cover: Paint application techniques, impasto, wet into wet blending technique and more. How to use basic painting medium - linseed oil. Use of appropriate brushes and how to organise your palette. Colour theory and colour mixing skills, and more! This workshop is open to all levels. Saturday​, 11 November 10:30am - 4:30pm We will break for 45 minutes to 1 hour for lunch. We are located five minutes walk from Crystal Palace Triangle, a foodie basin with a plethora of cafes and restaurants to choose from. ​ Or, you can bring your lunch and relax at our kitchen table. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided throughout the day. Group size: 5 students maximum. Having five students maximum on each workshop guarantees you will receive personalised tuition and feedback tailored to your needs and level. No generic advice and no getting lost in a crowded class. We are all about creating a supportive, relaxed atmosphere. You will work in an artist’s studio, a professional studio environment. You can choose to work on the easel, on the wall, or sitting down with a board. As a bonus, we are on the hill, so you can also enjoy the breath-taking panoramic view of London. Regardless of the particular theme, all our Saturday workshops will help you: - build your technical confidence - move beyond any creative or technical rut you may have found yourself in - sharpen your understanding of your strengths and your way of working - provide a closer look at composition and colour, how to arrive at a compelling painting - develop and explore your creativity and gain momentum - answer your particular questions regarding paints, mediums, and/or professional development The Saturday workshops are open to all levels, from practising professional artists to complete beginners. They are an excellent way to learn, remember, and inspire one another in a supportive atmosphere. You might be surprised by what can only be learned and gained by working in a diverse skill-level class.
